Jesus brought a way for man to be forgiven for His sins but He also brought the Holy Spirit that He could give the Spirit to man to lead and guide him through his life. The Holy Spirit gives us a conscience that lets us divine what is right and wrong according to God. If the Holy Spirit convicts us of something in our life we need to listen to that conviction and repent of that sin by asking Christ for forgiveness and then turn away from that sin by asking Christ for the way away from that sin and also the strength to resist it.
All sins except one (blaspheme against the Holy Spirit) can and will be forgiven if you ask Christ for forgiveness. So what is the one unforgivable sin that is talked about when it is written -
We are told that we will receive forgiveness for sins and eternal life with God if we accept Christ as our savior and ask Him to forgive our sins. We are also told that if we do not accept Christ we will not inherit eternal life but rather eternal condemnation.
Therefore I believe that the one unforgivable sin is to not accept Christ before you die. Once you die you no longer have the opportunity to accept Christ as your Lord and Savior - we must do this in this lifetime - or forever face the consequences. |
